Dr. Bhushan Punani describes the significance of 4th January and Blind Men’s Association of Ahmedabad celebrations for the day

This is a bicentenary Louis Braille inventor of the Braille system. He was born in a place called Coupvray, near Paris and France and he invented the Braille system, the only system available that gives on the tactile matter of teaching to the visually impaired.So 4th January is celebrated as Louis Braille’s day. It is the most important day for any visually impaired student
This year Blind Men’s Association of Ahmedabad will be organizing a state level seminar on popularizing the Braille calling people from all over Gujarat and discussing the status in Gujarat. We are also having a car rally which will be guided by the visually impaired on the same day. The visually impaired will be guiding the drivers how to go about and how to drive the car. There will also other competitions to create awareness for the use of Braille
