Jaws is a screen reader. In very simple words it allows the computer to become a talking computer. There are many screen reader in the market. Basically a screen reader makes the person with vision impairment work on the computer just like anybody else who is sighted.

For example when you are studying it allows you to access so many more books than the books that might be regularly available, but not everything would be in print or Braille or audio form. So when anything is available on the computer they have access to that, they have access to internet which means they have access to any information in the world.
