Mr
Ramakrishna’s personal gain from
Braille as a visually impaired
I personally feel that the invention of
Braille code by Sir Louis Braille is the
greatest invention, which is very relevant
to the visually impaired community. It
is a code which establishes a communication
between a visually impaired person and
the outside world. Personally I used Braille
in my education by going through textbooks
and other materials, available in Braille.
I could make own notes in Braille, to
go through later and general materials
of interest like a novel or a magazine
or a book on different subject. As regards
my profession is concerned I could use
Braille to prepare my notes for meetings
in the office. I could also keep certain
dada and information, which will be very
relevant for me as regards my work. More
importantly I could use Braille to prepare
certain points and notes particularly
when I have got to make presentations
to my top management on various aspects
Message to everyone
We do agree that the visual impairment
is a serious disability. Disability creates
barrier for the visually impaired person
towards as per the information, public
knowledge and also mobility. We are addressing
the first issue that is accesses to dada
and information. Now whether someone’s
in school or college or university or
going through some training or working
a industry or organization as a part of
his profession, he/ she needs to communicate,
process lot of information to outside
world that can be achieved as visually
impaired person cannot read write that
can mainly be achieved by the Braille.
Lot of technology has been developed but
I personally felt hat which ever technology
comes in, Braille will remain as the most
important link between a visually impaired
person with the outside communicating
data. Braille gives a complete mobility
to a visually impaired person i.e. he/she
can read write information in Braille
at any place in any environment. So every
visually impaired person must learn Braille
