HSBC's Education Forum : Mr Sandeep Pandey, Founder Aasha Foundation Go To Education Home Page

What are the criteria for selection of projects?

The organization will come to us with proposals and we also are on the look out for good groups. We prefer not to work with the groups who work in only in an NGO mode. Rather whose are projects fund driven. We prefer people’s groups, where the leadership is like our organization. The decision making should be at the local level, the leadership of the local people and those who are committed to the cause of
the people not for those who work just because they get funds. So after the selection, the group becomes a part of the ASHA, decision making. We don’t distinguish with people who are with ASHA and people those who work with ASHA. It’s like big family, once you joined it you become a part of it.
