Which
issues Media should raise related
to malnutrition.
We would like media to cover one issue
of ‘Ready to use therapeutic
food’.
Recently UNICEF imported the Ready
to use therapeutic food, and now they
are promoting it.
Ready to use therapeutic food is kind
of protein powder, which is used for
severally mal-nourished children.
Of course that was an emergency situation
in Khandwa, when UNICEF imported these
packets from France. It did work,
but the important thing is we had
a question that why local alternatives
were not considered. And this powder
is not going to be a long time solution
for the malnutrition. The same thing
can be done at community level and
it should be promoted. This is an
important aspect that media should
cover.
