Interview with Mr Sita Ram Gupta - LHWRF

Mr. Sita Ram Gupta on the projects along with their impact.

Mobile surgical camps
Having done over 1000 operations in our mobile surgical camps, we shared this idea to our state government. The state government gave us three mobile medical units for three districts - Bharatpur, Karauli, and Dholpur. We have got our teams in these districts.

Now the government has asked us to operate in Alwar and Sawai Madhopur districts. These mobile medical units are visiting the category C villages - these are villages with no medical facilities.

Skills upgradation programmes for youth
Another project which has been sanctioned by the government of India is about giving skills to round about 12,000 youths of below poverty line, across six districts of Rajasthan state. The project will cost around Rs. 15 crores. Skills will be imparted to these youth through various skills upgradation programs. Out of these, 80% youth will be placed in different companies, while rest of them will be given self- employment opportunities through micro-finance and identification of market outlets.

Agriculture
We are working in agriculture also. When we started Bee Keeping programme 8 years ago, not even a single gram of honey was produced here.

Right now Bharatpur has become a front runner districts as far as the honey production is concerned with 12,200 tones of production of honey per year. This Bee keeping program has spread to other eastern districts of Rajasthan, like Karauli, Alwar and Sawai Madhopur
district.

So lot of employment opportunities have been created here in addition of the honey production. e.g. animal husbandry, with Mother Dairy. We have established totally computerised
plants of large capacity with them.
