Community
level stigma and discrimination
towards people living with HIV/AIDS.
I think it is a mixed bag. To some
level changes are there but they
are really slow. But again which
happens in the case of men having
sex with men, people with HIV, it
is not uncommon for us to hear of
cases where people are getting thrown
out of their homes or children are
thrown out of their schools because
of their status.
Tamil Nadu has over all done a good
job in fighting the stigma. I think
the southern states seem to be together
on these issues, like most other
issues (health, education). I think
the southern states definitely have
an edge over the northern states.
