Interview with Capt Raghuraman, Head Communications, Dr Reddy's Foundation

The livelihood advancement of business school or LABS program of DRF trains poor youth in livelihood skills with a view to enabling them to get entering level positioning in the job market. LABS, is a pioneering public partnership model that involves the government, corporate enterprises and the community. Vocational training centers are set up in an area after identify the potential employability avenues there. The demand-based curriculum includes techniqucal skills, essential life skills and the communicative English capsule. LABS has trained and placed nearly one lakh seventy five thousand aspirants so far. The LABS module has catalyzed citizen-community-corporate partnership in the creation of sustainable livelihoods and helped redefined ways of stream lining, government, and poverty allegations programs.

In the education sector DRF fights child labour and strives to provide quality education to the children who are deprived of it. Using schools as community resource centers, it develops local knowledge, leadership and implements innovative schooling strategies in association with mainstream education system.

Our educational initiatives include YUVA Youth learning Centers, Transit schools, Pudami Neighborhood Schools and primaries, Kallam Anji Reddy Vidyalaya, Vocational junior college and ALTIUS, an advancement school.
