If you can’t reduce your impact this holiday season, neutralize it by purchasing carbon offsets
Generating energy by burning fossil fuels, such as coal, oil and natural gas, emits greenhouse gas emissions,
of which, carbon dioxide (or carbon) is the most abundant – that is energy that we all purchase today.
Carbon offsets help fund projects that produce clean energy, such as wind and solar power, projects
that absorb carbon, such as planting trees, or projects that improve energy efficiency.
Buying carbon offsets means that you are helping certified ‘green’ projects become financially viable,
it is essentially a means to accelerate the uptake of these projects
