Interview with Shekhar Kapur, Film Maker

Mr. Kapur on agricultural problems.

In India 80% of water is used in agriculture, while the 20% is used by non-agriculture sector. Now farmers get water from water-pumps. Farmers depend on the electricity to provide water to crops through these pumps. But they do not know when will the power come, and leave their pumps on. And only two hours of electricity in enough to get the field flooded. So the water gets wasted and inefficiently used.
