Interview with Shekhar Kapur, Film Maker

Mr. Kapur’s message to farmers.

A rich agriculturalist as compared to single farmers in our country waste more water.
80% of Indian farmers are single farmers and they are very conscious of water.
Unfortunately, we did a great agricultural revolution in the 50’s - 60’s. At that time even the protagonist in the movies used to be tube well maker. And these tube wells have ruined our agriculture now.

The farming community seriously needs to undertake Rain Water Harvesting.
I saw a movie recently, in which the community and farms are destroyed. The villagers decide to shift their bases to cities, and one villager chooses to settle in the village and takes up water harvesting. After 5-6 years, the village comes back to its normal phase, the villagers return back to their green village. Inspired by this man and the village, 200 nearby villages also undertake water harvesting.

Water harvesting is a very simple task to perform. Save the rainwater and return it to the ground slowly. Adding too much of rainwater at the same time will lead the water to flow away from the ground.
Instead of throwing your wastewater, recycle it and use it.
